You can make a bath bomb at home!
My son loves to take a bath, especially soaking himself in the fizzy bathtub with a bath bomb. (I do too!) Fancy little guy! I found this excellent YouTube tutorial, and we tried!
What you need
We watched this YouTube video. Her tutorial was very easy to understand.
These are the ingredients she used in the video.
- Baking Soda – 1/2 cup
- Citric acid – 1/4 cup
- Cornstarch – 1/4 cup
- Epsom Salt – 1/4 cup
- Castor Oil (or any vegetable oil) – 3 tsp
- Essential Oil for scent – 1 tsp
- Soap or Food Coloring
- Water 1 tbs (this amount can vary slightly depending on the humidity level where you live)
- Soap Molds (We used metal one and also plastic Easter eggs)
Put all dry ingredients. Our baking soda was very crumbly, so we shifted them to make it fine. Since we handled citric acid, we covered our eyes with safety glasses. Just in case.
We decided to make it green with a lavender scent. Mmmm, smells so good!
Finally, the mixing part was done.
Molding time. We made a ball shape with soap mold and also egg shape with my son’s plastic Easter eggs.
We didn’t wait long enough (We got too excited!), but it came out very nice. We LOVED these DIY bath bombs!
