Create Fun Flags and Learn Question Words!

Character Flags

Goal

Question Words: L.K.1.D

Before we dive into learning about question words, let's get creative! Students will make flags for our two characters. (Scrubby and Sparkle)

Activity Prep

  • Download & print the PDF below

  • 2 Craft Popsicle Sticks (straw or unsharpened pencil could be the alternative)

  • Glue

  • Scissors (*Please help with scissors as needed.)

How to Make

Let's create character flags that we'll use throughout this chapter for reading their story. Please keep them safe! ♻️

  1. Download the PDF and print it out.

  2. Carefully cut out the two flags from the printed paper. (*Please ask for assistance with scissors if needed.)

  3. Fold each flag at the center.

  4. Apply glue to the back of the flag.

  5. Place a popsicle stick (or another suitable alternative) at the folded line.

  6. Secure the popsicle stick and fold the paper completely.

  7. Finish the other flag. Now your character flags are ready to use!
