How to Play

Number of Players:  2(If the student is alone, the teacher can join.)

Setup: 

  1. Download and print the PDF.

  2. Cut out all the cards.

  3. Spread all the cards face-up on the table or the floor.

Playing: 

  1. This is a team game. Players work together to find pairs of cards that are spelled the same but have different meanings.

  2. When players match all the pairs, ask the teacher to check.

Note

  • Please assist the students who need help understanding the meanings of the words.

  • When you check the completed pairs of matching cards, please ask 2 or 3 questions about them to make sure the students understand.

  • CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.K.4.A: Identify new meanings for familiar words and apply them accurately (e.g., knowing duck is a bird and learning the verb to duck.)
