Art Activity with Kids: Button Tree
Fun Arts and Crafts Activities with Kids
Button Tree Craft for Kids – Fun and Easy Preschool Art Activity
Main Idea
Here is a fun idea to keep preschoolers entertained. We had a lot of old buttons in a container, so we decided to try a new arts and crafts activity. Decorate a bare tree with a bunch of buttons.
Activity Prep
(What we used)
Construction paper
Bottons (*WARNING: Buttons can pose a choking hazard; this activity is unsuitable for babies and toddlers. We recommend adult supervision during this activity.)
Drawing & coloring tools (crayons, colored pencils, markers, paints & brush etc)
The hot glue gun is optional if you want to add buttons to the paper. (We didn't use it because we plan to use those buttons for other projects later.)
How We Did
This activity is a great boredom-buster and is perfect for a rainy day. We used construction paper, and I drew a bare tree on it with crayons. My son then chose buttons and placed them on the tree.
Although we could have used a hot glue gun to attach the buttons to the paper, we decided to save that for future projects.
He had a great time, and I enjoyed a relaxing half-hour while he engaged in this activity.
If you or your children don't want to draw a bare tree, we have a downloadable PDF available below.
