Antonyms Acting
Goal
Nuance & Meaning
We aim to help students understand common antonyms through an acting game.
Activity Prep
The antonym puzzle pieces from the previous exercise (*You can download the PDF below if you don’t have them.)
How to Play
Number of Players:
2 players (If the student is alone, the teacher can join.)
Setup:
Lay out the antonym puzzle pieces on the table and have students match all the antonyms first.
Playing:
Choose one pair of antonyms.
Players will act out their meanings, ideally in front of some audience. For example, if the antonyms are small and big, one player acts out something small while the other acts out to be something big.
Keep acting out at least 3 pairs of antonyms!
