How to Use
Step 1: Reading on Page 1
Let's read the story together and learn how to use the question word "What."
Dear Teachers
Please hold the characters' flags like a puppet show.
Please read the conversation between the two characters using the question word "What."
Please encourage students to create questions starting with "What."
Step 2: Practice on Page 2
Practice writing the question word "What."
The teacher can act like the Scrubby and ask questions one at a time.
Students will answer the question in the way they choose. They can speak their answer, draw it, or write it if they want a challenge. Don’t worry about spelling mistakes!
Step 3: Question Time!
Number of Players:
2 players (*If a student is alone, the teacher can join.)
Setup:
Get the characters’ flags ready
Playing:
Choose a character: The Scrubby or Sparkle.
Make sure to hold your character’s flag.
First, the Scrubby will ask a "What" question.
Sparkle will answer that question.
After two questions, switch characters.
*Please ask friendly questions. If a question makes you feel bad, it’s okay to not answer.
