This observation exercise with peers helps students recognize and identify verbs more comfortably.


Activity Prep

  • Any screen or tablet to display photos 💻


How to Play

We will look for verbs in photos. Some photos may show more than one verb. It would be great if the students notice that many actions are happening!

Number of Players: 

  • Suitable for 1-4 players with smaller screens. If the teacher has a big screen, even more players can join in.

Setup:

  • Begin by checking the example photo above. The image has multiple verbs, such as smile, bite, wear, and more!

Playing:

  1. Choose one photo from the options below.

  2. Show the photo on the screen.

  3. When students see a verb, they should raise their hands and share the verb.  

  4. Change the photo and keep playing!
