This sorting and performing game will help students become more comfortable spotting verbs by acting out the actions they describe.


Activity Prep

  • Download & print the PDF below

  • Scissors (*Please help with scissors as needed.)


How to Play

Number of Players: 

  • About 1 - 4 Players (depending on how well they can see the cards)

Setup:

  1. Download and print the PDF

  2. Cut out all the cards. (*Please assist with scissors as needed.)  

  3. The teacher will create a card deck and place it face down.

Playing:

  1. Gather around.

  2. The teacher will flip a card, read the word aloud, and show it to everyone.

  3. If the word is a noun, stay still.

  4. If the word is a verb, act it out! (For example, for "eat," pretend to munch).

  5. Continue playing until all the cards have been used.
