This math worksheet features a petting zoo with chickens, and rabbits. Kindergarten students will count and group the animals to practice basic math skills.

Students will look at the printout and identify different types of animals, such as rabbits, sheep, and chickens, and group them by counting individual animals.


Activity Prep

  • Download & print the PDF below

  • Writing tools (pencils, colored pencils, markers, etc)


How to Use

  1. Download and print the PDF.

  2. Look at the big petting zoo picture at the top.

  3. At the bottom, find each animal’s picture with an empty box.

  4. Count how many of those animals are in the big picture.

  5. Write the number in the empty box next to the animal.

  6. Keep counting and filling in the rest!

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT. K.MD.B.3: Classify objects into given categories; count the numbers of objects in each category and sort the categories by count.
