Goal

Play a speedy game to build numbers from 11 to 19 by composing 10s and ones, using a worksheet with dot cards from the previous activity.

How to Play
Number of Players:
2 players *A teacher can join if needed.
Setup:
Choose Player 1 and Player 2.
Player 1 holds dot cards numbered from 1 to 9.
Player 2 holds dot cards numbered from 11 to 19.
Playing:
Start the stopwatch!
Player 2 places one card (11–19) as the answer.
Player 1 selects a card (1–9) to complete the 10 + ___ equation. Example: If Player 2 places “15,” Player 1 places “5” to show 15 = 10 + 5.
If the combination is correct, Player 2 places the next card.
Continue until all cards are used.
Stop the stopwatch to see your total time!
Switch roles and play again. Try to beat your previous time!
