Toothpick Flags with Kids

How to Make Your Own Paper Flags on Toothpicks

When my son was a toddler, he needed attention 24/7. If I still had some extra energy, I made some toothpick flags for snacks or dinner. Kids can focus on decorating those flags while grown-up needs to work! Then the dinner looks more fun and yummier for kids, and they try more new foods!

What We Used

  • origami paper or construction paper (Needs to be clean)
  • toothpicks
  • scissors
  • glue
  • crayons or color pencils
  • stickers (optional)

Here is the easy DIY video I found. I didn’t make triangle flags. I made rectangle ones so that my son can have more space to draw. Although, triangle flags look so cute and fancy!

He also used Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stickers. Toothpick flags are so easy to make, so I made extra for later.
